Hong Kong Neon Pop
Louise Hill has a huge love for all things vintage Hong Kong, especially its iconic neon signs. Louise found so much joy hand-finishing this piece in metallic foil to light up the signs and bring them to life.
Louise has lived in this vibrant beautiful city for many years; she fell in love with its addictive energy and grit, intertwined with an immense sense of culture and heritage.
This piece features Louise's favorite signs along with some iconic Hong Kong letterboxes, which also feature the same aesthetic of metallic vintage colors and textures. On the left of the design is an old biscuit tin Louise had photographed featuring Chang'e – the Chinese goddess of the moon, best known for stealing an elixir of immortality from her husband, Hou Yi. Her story is celebrated as part of the annual Mid-Autumn Festival.
Louise's highly-detailed prints are a delight to explore, and yield new discoveries on every perusal.
Prints are printed, and where appropriate, hand-gilded, to order for each customer.
