Chinoiserie in Teal & Peacock Blue

This piece was influenced by the beautiful blues and green colors often found in traditional Asian tea sets, silk brocade fabrics, old jade paintbrushes, temple roof tiles. Louise Hill had spent many months collecting vintage objects and fabrics for her prints and many hours rummaging in markets, second-hand shops, and scrolling through pages on the internet to find little treasures to include in her artworks. She likes to weave her imagery into intricate layers, creating a kind of luxurious pattern which is contained within a traditional Chinese Lattice window frame. The lattice frame for this design has an intricate electric blue brocade silk as its background pattern.

Louise's highly detailed prints are a delight to explore and yield new discoveries on every perusal.

Prints are printed, and where appropriate, hand-gilded, to order for each customer.
