Black Metal Console
The Black Metal Console is a collaboration between Tomoko Azumi, a United Kingdom-based product designer, and Riko Takahashi, the designer of the Tokyo Olympics uniforms.
Inspired by the traditional Japanese "Sendai Tansu" or a warrior's chest of drawers, this designer piece has an iron finishing with silver fittings. The drawers are made of paulownia wood known for efficiently controlling moisture. The console can be used as a decorative piece or to store luxury watches, silk scarves, and other precious items.
This Black Metal Console won the 2013 Good Design Award.
