The Silkroad Collection S Chair (2 Seater)-H810mm

The Silkroad Collection, which perfectly combines Western culture and contemporary Asian aesthetics, draws inspiration from a mid-17th century Victorian "lover seat", or "tete-a-tete" (face-to-face in French). Reflecting the modern interpretation of "West meets East" furniture design, its distinctive serpentine form backseat with a shared armrest encourage two people to meet and enjoy intimate conversation.

After meticulous study of the form and functionality of the Conversation Chair, it led to the reinterpretation and creation of the Silkroad Collection, referring to the Silk Road which began during Han Dynasty (206BC to 220AD) with a long history spanning over 2000 years. It extended over 6,000km, as cultural transmission across China, India, Mediterranean Sea and Europe to promote the exchanges of goods, services, knowledge, beliefs and ideas and bring long lasting impact on economic, political and cultural interaction between East and West.

The "Silkroad Collection" with its Asian touch were all handmade with dark walnut wood and solidly engineered with precise joinery work, milling, sanding and fine finish. This collection was premiered at the Shanghai City Pavilion during Milan Expo 2015 and was showcased at the inaugural International Design Furniture Fair Hong Kong twice.
