YIWAI is an independent design brand born in Chongqing, China. Inspired by the simultaneously mystical yet urban temperament of this booming city, the brand has adapted a design language that is both precise and exquisite. Designer Xiong Yu graduated from the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts with a degree in Environmental Art and Interior Design, and is dedicated to the design and development of lifestyle objects.
Xiong Yu believes that design begins and ends in juxtaposition with the relationship between human versus object. He constantly explores different textures, patterns, and artistic techniques, in order to create high-quality craftsmanship and designs that will stand the test of time.
