Adeline Yeo-Matsuzaki: The Ritual of Painting
April 27, 2023
Born in 1977, Adeline Yeo-Matsuzaki is recognized as Singapore’s first female finger-painting artist, and has held seven successful solo exhibitions since 2010.
Based in Tokyo since 2018, Adeline has been inspired to expand her artistry by blending the exuberance of her Peranakan heritage with the contemplative beauty of Japan, thus was born the latest Café Collection.
Created with brushes and sometimes with finishing touches by her fingers, the Shade Series of three contemporary acrylic on canvas artworks expresses Adeline’s zest for the beauty of life in a quiet simplicity that is also stirring and emotive.
