Ruban Vase
Flowers fade and branches wither, but life should never be remembered only for the most glorious moments. If the scattered and bent ones are held together tightly, can they accompany us for a longer time? This sentiment is what inspires the design of the Ruban Vase.
A slightly curved plane extends from the solid body of the vase allowing the water to spread until it is flushed with the edge as if creating a pool of water for the fallen petals.
The shape of the Ruban Vase is simple yet dynamic, finding a balance between seemingly conflicting elements such as thickness, size, curvature, and straightness. The vase is fitted with a kenzan, a device used in the Japanese art of flower arrangement for fixing the flowers in the container.
