Islet, a sculptural work, focuses on describing the psychological state of individuals seeking their identity within society. By weakening the facial features of the figure, the artist aims to create a dialogue about all the psychological sediments that create home in our bodies at the unconscious level since birth.
The sculpture has the form of a little man with open arms in a half embrace. The form talks about the human need to connect and establish relationships in order to find a sense of belonging. The artist hopes to begin a dialogue about emotional needs and the search for common identity with this work.
