Glass - Kun of Light
The Kun series of glass sculptures by resident artist Jiachen Wang are inspired by an old story by the Chinese philosopher Chuang Tzu called "Carefree Excursion". The story features a mythological creature called the "kun" that has transformative powers. It talks of the varying journeys and shared goals of every organism to achieve greatness.
The artist uses different glass forms to depict the "kun" and its journey towards accomplishment. The artworks are intended to spark a conversation about destiny, individual journeys, and the role of nature as inspiration in our lives.
