Beauty of the Zodiac: 'Jungle Power' Ornamental Plate
Representing the tiger from the Chinese zodiac, this ornamental plate is both a pursuit of beauty, as well as a symbol of friendship, good luck, and luxury.
The pattern has been hand-painted and is a modern interpretation of traditional symbolism - it rejects the conventional image of the tiger with its teeth and claws, and instead takes the form of a tiger lying down in the middle of the jungle, in front of a boulder, with its eyes gazing forward. It looks peaceful but majestic.
Made in Jingdezhen, China's "porcelain capital", with 45% bone powder content, the pieces are fired at high temperatures to create a smooth glaze and rich colors. The pattern is solidified at a high temperature and hand-painted in gold.
