When first experimenting with candle-making, Jacqueline was shocked to learn adding pure, therapeutic-grade essential oils could be toxic due to the oils' low flashpoints. She further experienced this toxicity when she lit a candle with pure essential oils, only to experience headaches and vomiting.
With research, she learned the essential oils used in candles are actually stabilized compounds. However, Jacqueline wasn't pleased with the commercially available fragrances and found them artificial-smelling.
Now, she only works with fragrance makers to craft bespoke fragrances while ensuring all oils are made with stabilized essential oils and natural ingredients.
